Which Scissor Lift Height Suits Warehouses and Malls?
Choosing a scissor lift height starts with a simple question: where does the worker’s hand need to reach? That is where two often-confused numbers come in.
Platform height vs working height
Platform height is the height of the basket floor above the ground. Working height is how high a person standing on the platform can reach, usually about two meters more than the platform height. When ordering, always ask: is the stated figure platform height or working height?
Common examples
- Shops and offices with standard ceilings: 6 or 8 meters.
- Malls and showrooms: 8 to 12 meters depending on ceiling height.
- Warehouses with high racking: 12 to 18 meters depending on the top rack.
Just as important as height
- The width of the narrowest aisle the machine must pass through.
- Floor levelness and load-bearing capacity.
- Obstacles above the work point: if there are any, an articulating man lift may fit better.
