Many lifting equipment delivery delays aren’t caused by the provider, but by the site itself not being ready to receive the machine. Here’s a quick checklist before your delivery date.

Ground and space

• Confirm the ground can bear the loaded equipment’s weight, especially on newly poured or incomplete floors.
• Check there’s enough maneuvering space and turning radius, especially for man lifts and boom lifts in tight areas.
• Clear any temporary obstacles (building materials, containers, parked vehicles) from the expected access path.

Access and delivery

• Make sure the site entrance fits the delivery truck, not just the equipment itself.
• Prepare entry permits for the driver/team if the site requires prior security clearance (factories, restricted industrial zones).
• Designate someone on-site responsible for receiving the equipment and signing the delivery form.

Safety before operation

• Check for overhead power lines or obstacles in the expected reach path for elevated-work equipment.
• Prepare a safe storage area for the equipment during non-operating hours if needed.
